UK TEST REQUIREMENTS FROM 4 OCTOBER 2021

Strict rules on testing and quarantine are in place as set out by the UK government classifying countries as non-red and red countries. You will need to follow different regulations depending on the country you are returning from as well as your age, residential status and vaccination station. 

These restrictions apply to England, Scotland and Wales.

UK Residents, Irish Nationals and British Nationals

Returning from a Non-red Country
Fully Vaccinated and
Children aged 5 – 18
  • Day 2 PCR Test
  • Passenger Locator Form
Unvaccinated
  • Pre-departure Rapid Antigen Test (72 hours prior to arriving in the UK)
  • Day 2 and Day 8 PCR Test
  • Passenger Locator Form
  • Quarantine at home or in place for 10 days
  • Day 5 Test-to-release (Optional)
Returning from a Red Country
Fully Vaccinated and
Children aged 5 – 18
  • Pre-departure Rapid Antigen Test (72 hours prior to arriving in the UK.
  • Quarantine Hotel
  • Day 2 and day 8 PCR Test
  • Passenger Locator Form
Unvaccinated
Travellers

Red List Countries

The countries listed below are on the red list effective as of 4am on 4 October 2021.

  • Colombia
  • Dominican Republic
  • Ecuador
  • Haiti
  • Panama
  • Peru
  • Venezuela

Note of Vaccinations:

From 4 October 2021, fully vaccinated means you have received all necessary doses of a vaccine:

  • In the UK, or UK vaccine programme overseas
  • with the Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna or Janssen vaccines (or formulations of the vaccines in the relevant countries such as AstraZeneca Covishielf) in the EU, Andorra, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland, Vatican City State, the US, Australia, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Bahrain, Brunei, Canada, Dominica, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, New Zealand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan or the UAE. Arrivals must have had a complete course of a recognised vaccine at least 14 days before arriving in England.
